Fatima Al Kaabi, who is fifteen years old, received the UAE Pioneers Award in 2015 from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for being the UAE’s youngest inventor and for her contribution to the country.

The same year, at the age of 13, she won the Shaikh Hamdan and Sharjah Awards for excellence and first prize in ‘Draw the future of Abu Dhabi 2030’ and was the first-place winner in the Robot Olympics in the UAE.

“The inventions are aimed at making people’s lives easier, I try to focus on practical solutions to solve local issues with a positive impact, like the Braille printer made of Lego bricks that I invented for the visually impaired,“ Fatima Al Kaabi explained.

Fatima Al Kaabi, whose passion for science and invention started at the age of seven, explained to the audience that she has developed 12 inventions, including a photographer robot, a cheerleader robot, solar bags, an electronic belt for the hearing impaired, and electronic bracelets which are being developed to enhance security at Dubai Expo 2020, among other inventions in the fields of environment and special needs.

“The support I received from the Government of the UAE was essential as they encouraged me to develop my skills and interest in the field of technology and science.
