ABOUT

H.E Amna Al-Nakhi currently serves as a Director-General with the Government of Sharjah. Previously, she was the Director General of Sharjah Labour Authority, before that; she was an advisor of Sharjah Media Corporation. Amna is a candidate for a Doctorate in Business Administration & Economy in UAE University focusing on knowledge management. previously, she served as the first Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Media Corporation and the Managing Director of Sharjah Radio and Television. She was appointed to these distinguished posts by royal decree from His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council member and Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah. She was the project leader tasked with establishing a modern and competitive media corporation in line with the cultural, religious, and social heritage of the UAE. This eventually led to the establishment of the Sharjah Media Corporation where she acted as its first Chief Executive Officer. H.E Amna Al-Nakhi has extensive and diverse professional experiences in information technology, media communications and academia. She has held key senior positions at some of the largest local and international companies in the region; such as Vice President of Corporate Communications and Social Responsibility at Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du), Academic Programs and Community Affairs (CSR) Manager at Microsoft, and Programs Developing Supervisor at Etisalat (E-vision). Academically, she was a lecturer for several years at the University of Sharjah’s Department of Information Systems Management. She is also a member of Sharjah Tatweer Forum and was nominated by The Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology to chair the national committee for the review of ISO 26000 standards related to implementing social responsibility in UAE companies. H.E Amna Al Nakhi is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration at UAE University and holds a Master’s degree in Information Systems Management from Webster University in the United Kingdom. She is married and currently resides in Abu Dhabi.
